Our partners, Instagrafite, recently curated the first edition of O.bra, a street art festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The festival invited artists from across the globe and featured a diverse line-up of talent. Members of our team had the opportunity to attend O.bra and witness the creation of many incredible murals. Check out some of our favorite below!

The Street Museum of Art presents a unique and innovative approach to experiencing art by extending beyond the physicality of a museum or gallery. By combining the strategic curation and organization of a museum with the guerilla techniques of a street artist, SMoA is the first public art program of its kind.

This years Mural Festival (2nd edition!) in Montreal brought in a variety of talent from all over the world. This year Station16 Gallery chose to highlight one of the festivals international artists KASHINK, with the opening of her first Montreal solo exhibit ; "Ornementations Masculines".

This week we have a special blog interview with Parisian artist Le Diamantaire. Sabrina Desjardins, our newest Station16 intern, lead the interview on our behalf! Please note that this interview is only in french, with an english version to follow later this month.

Le Diamantaire est un artiste français à surveiller lors du festival MURAL, qui se déroulera de 12 au 15 juin prochains. Il s’agit de sa première présence dans un festival au Canada. L’artiste travaille avec des miroirs, qu’il réutilise en les moulant dans une forme de diamant. Le Diamantaire œuvre dans la sphère de l’installation, en disposant ses miroirs moulés un peu partout sur son passage. 

Using images of Hollywood icons and fashion models, the New York based artist DAIN juxtaposes celebrity icons, creating hybrids that dissociate the familiar to create something surreal.  Coupling male and female identity, playing with proportions and contexts, DAIN unified characters, which simultaneously complements and detracts from the whole. In his correlated images, our idealizations of these famous personalities become empty.  This month, Leanna Valente, author of Art & Fashion, was given the opportunity to interview the artist.

Station 16 and Instagrafite have come together to produce the fun and creative t-shirts, with prints designed by a few of the street art community’s very best. With such a diverse group of artists coming together for this project, Station 16 and Instagrafite . Here we’ve taken a closer look at each artists’ unique style, and a bit of background information.

For little over a year, we've been hinting on a large collaboration with the hugely popular instagram account, Instagrafite. Well, that time is finally here! Instagrafite (for those unfamiliar) is the biggest collaborative street art gallery in the world, created in 2011. They are leading with a platform of almost 1 million followers. They have since become a startup, which helps promote and create innovative projects related to street art or creative marketing. 

You all know the work of 123 Klan, but for those of you that don't... you may find it strangely familiar. It may be because of their significant character and letter style, but more likely it's due to the fact that they are one of the most contracted graphic designers in the urban scene. With clients like Nike, Pepsi, MTV and Vans, it's no wonder their imagery may seem familiar...   

Station 16 Gallery has been a longtime supporter of Enzo & Nio, printing Magritte (Ceci nest pas use bombe) back in 2012. We’ve since presented their Idols and launched a tremendously successful Alarm Pull edition variant for Fountain Art Fair. Today, we would like to introduce you to Magda Coccinella, the person behind the Brooklyn duo’s social media...

Armory Week is around the corner, and as we prepare to head to the Big Apple with an entire new collection of work, we can't leave without releasing some new products for all you folks who will not be attending Fountain Fair (Booth C-201) in New York City. Launching this THURSDAY at NOON online, we have an assortment of new prints that will also be on display at Fountain...

Station 16 is proud to present “M(omen)to Mori,” a daring still life exhibition curated by the artist OMEN. Please join us for the opening on January 29th starting at 6pm.

With the journey almost over and Christmas around the corner, we are yet again discovering just how awesome people can be. Case in point ; Dream In Mexico, a nonprofit organization that wants to pledge 6000$ to our Kickstarter project! And you can help them make it happen...

With the help of project MU and the new MURAL fest, this last year has given Montreal a number of new murals to be proud of. Many of these murals painted by street artists from all over, artists that Station16 has been fortunate enough to work with. So, we've decided to work on a new project...
